REQUIRED: 

Option 1:

• Associate or more advanced degree; and
• Valid Texas Health Science certificate

 Option 2:

• Associate or more advanced degree;
• Eligible for Health Science certificate through an approved Texas Educator Preparation Program;
• and approval by the Texas Educator Preparation Program of two years of wage-earning experience utilizing the licensure requirement (Statement of Qualifications form (PDF, 305.40 KB)

 Option 3:

• Associate or more advanced degree;
• Eligible for a School District Permit;
• Professional work experience; and
• Hold current licensure, certification, or registration by a nationally recognized accrediting agency as a health professions practitioner;

PREFERRED: 

• Registered Nurse (RN) license

The Health Science Teacher is responsible for contributing to the educational program as a whole and to the growth of each student.
