MUST UPLOAD A COPY OF HS DIPLOMA/GED AND A TX DRIVERS LICENSE

REQUIRED:  High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required in English AND 

                   A valid Texas Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record  AND                   

                   Must be able to make characteristic sound on all instruments.

SUMMARY

Repairs Brass and Woodwind instruments and requisitions all necessary parts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Inspects instruments, moves mechanical parts, plays scales to determine defects.  Unscrews and removes rods, slides, pistons and other parts. Removes old parts; installs new parts; removes reachable dents. 

Pins and fills cracks on wood instruments. Solders patches over cracks in brass instruments and solders as needed. 

Chemically cleans brass instruments; replaces worn corks and felt.  Removes old pads; installs new pads as needed; replaces worn tenon corks. Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties.  

Maintains confidentiality. Maintains a high level of ethical behavior as is expected of all District employees.  

Maintains professional growth by attending in-service and meetings as requested/required.  

Performs any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor/Director.
