MUST UPLOAD HS DIPLOMA/GED in English and DOCUMENTS FROM OPTION 1 OR 2
REQUIRED:
Must have a High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required in English (can submit a High School Transcript) and MEET ONE of the following Options:
Option 1
- Forty-eight (48) university, college and/or vocational level hours with core subjects from an accredited institution of higher education and/or
- Associate’s (or higher) Official Transcript/Diploma (required in English)
- Student Academic Record/View NOT VALID Must be an Official Transcript
- Have experience working with students or parents as approved by the employing superintendent. Experience may be work in church-related schools, day camps, youth groups, private schools, licensed daycare centers, or similar experience
Option 2
A Current Full-Time Brownsville ISD employee with a Valid Educational Aide Certification and High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required in English and have met a rigorous standard quality and can demonstrate, through a formal state or local assessment knowledge and ability to assist in instruction (TOPS training).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administration regulations and state board policy. Assists with the planning and preparation for instruction by preparing and acquiring appropriate materials and equipment. Assists in the delivery of instruction by using a variety of techniques such as lecture, discussion and supervised role playing. Assists students, individually or in groups, with instructional assignments to reinforce learning concepts. Assists in the supervision of the students, both inside and outside the classroom. Keeps the teacher informed of any special needs or problems of individual students. Assists in maintaining a neat and orderly classroom. Assists in maintaining and preparing student records and documents as assigned. Assists in lifting, changing, or feeding students on an as-needed basis. Attends support and mainstream classes with the students, as needed. Maintains professional growth by attending in-service training programs, faculty meetings and participates in special events, as needed. Provides orientation and assistance to substitute teachers. Provides other related duties assigned by the teacher or principal. Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties. Maintains confidentiality. Maintains a high level of ethical behavior as is expected of all District employees. Maintains professional growth by attending in-service and meetings as requested/required. Performs any other duties as assigned. |
