REQUIRED:

 

  •  High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required in English;
  •  A considerable knowledge of a specialized field such as electronic repairs and codes; over three (3) years of related experience.
  • A valid Texas Drivers License and an acceptable driving record. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
Troubleshoots and tests intercom systems using a volt-ohm meter and other test equipment as required to complete repairs.
Completes all intercom related work orders and emergency calls.  Documents all labor hours, parts and materials used in the process to complete work orders.  Safeguards and maintains the vehicle, tools and all other assigned materials, which are used to complete work orders.  Installs new equipment and wire at the main office location and in the classrooms.
Replaces ballasts, switches, outlets, fuses, circuit breakers, defective wiring, kiln elements, stove controls, motors, controls, thermostats, etc.  Follows current electrical practices and adheres to local and national electric codes.  Reports any intercom related problems within the District to the Electrical Foreman.  Takes responsibility for the repair and maintenance of electronic scoreboard equipment in the gyms, baseball and football fields.  Demonstrates desire and ability to work with others in a congenial manner at all times.  Takes responsibility to assure the safety of the employee and all other employees assisting them.  Assists intercom repairman and helpers when requested and possible.  Assists in the training and evaluating of assistants.Strives continuously to assure the safety, health and comfort of all students and employees in the performance of duties.  Maintains confidentiality.  Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties.
Maintains a high level of ethical behavior as is expected of all District employees.  Maintains professional growth by attending in-services and meetings as requested/required.  Performs any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor/Director
