REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s Degree;
- Valid Texas Theatre Arts Teacher’s Certificate Grades 9-12 or enrollment in an Alternative Certification Program or equivalent.
PREFERRED:
- Knowledge of State and UIL policies governing theatre education;
- Minor in Theatre/Speech or English Language Arts equivalency;
- Knowledge of the Handbook for One Act Play.
The Theatre Arts Teacher will participate and maintain the established standards within the UIL One-Act Play contest. The teacher will facilitate for Theatre Arts participation at extracurricular events, including community performances, district, TETA and UIL activities. The teacher will make arrangements for transportation, lodging, and meals for events as needed and be responsible for all day to day operations of the program. Additional responsibilities include all areas of technical support/instruction for fall shows, musicals, spring shows, and the UIL OAP.
