MUST UPLOAD HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA/GED AND TX DRIVERS LICENSE
REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) in English;
- Over one (1) year of related experience in commercial glazing work.
- A valid Texas Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record.
SUMMARY:
- Installs glass in windows, skylights and display cases, or on surfaces such as building fronts, interior walls, ceilings, and tabletops.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Marks outline or pattern on glass and cuts glass.
Breaks off excess glass by hand or with notched tool.
Fastens glass panes into wood sash with glazier’s points, and spreads and smoothes putty around edge of panes with knife to seal joints. Installs mirrors or structural glass on building fonts, walls, ceiling, or tables.
Bolts metal hinges, handles, locks, and other hardware to prefabricated glass doors.
Sets glass doors into frame and fits hinges.
Installs metal window and door fames into which glass panel are to be fitted.
Presses plastic adhesive film to glass or sprays glass with tinting solution to prevent light glare.
Installs stained glass windows. Wear safety goggles and gloves at all times.
Strives continually to promote the safety, health and comfort of students and employees in the performance of duties.
Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties.
Maintains confidentiality.
Maintains a high level of ethical behavior as is expected of all District employees.
Maintains professional growth by attending in-service and meetings as requested/required.
Position may require overtime and will respond to service calls in a timely manner while serving on-call duty as necessary to maintain function of District facilities. Drives District vehicles to and from work site; obeys all traffic laws.
Must perform daily vehicle inspections and maintenance preventions before and after trips.
Performs any other maintenance trades duties as assigned by Supervisor/Director.
